Codex of Beings · Souls and wanderers

Alice

A painter, and Christopher's love.

The bedroomch. 24

Alone at night with cubed paintings of marionettes and pastel angels on her walls, she is frozen by a clicking porcelain doll that moves between her window, her painting and her bed. It says, “Your love, he is free now,” and when the light cuts out a voice says, “I am the nothingness…”

The circusch. 30

Falling down a rabbit hole, she lands in the Fool's tent in a dark dress with yellow chaos stars, is pelted with beating hearts, and is trampled by the bull. She is found dead in her bed of heroin and PCP.

The paintingch. 35

The jester painting Sarah buys is signed “By Alice Love”; the shopkeeper says the painter recently passed away.

The stone chamberch. 37

Inside the God Machine she finds the body, runs the stone corridors, opens the maiden, refuses the call from 25291791441265, and wakes Christopher with her tears: “I found you, love.”

Note: the woman in the bedroom in chapter 24 is Alice.
