Demons

Souls grown sick in their lostness, and the spirits that possess and whisper.

The sickch. 4

“Sons and daughters of our family tree blindly spill forth their emptying seeds, growing lostness; some become deeply sick therein, and these are the demons.” Some serve Demon Fathers and Mothers, some pleasures, some their pride, and some hatred and blasphemy. “These tortured ones rule the outer darkness, of which is your Devil God.” “These masters of nothing know nothing.”

Possessorsch. 6, 10

“This demon knew the suffering from God's hatred unto themselves, having lived it forever” (6). Under the stars, “the demons possess and stoke the burning joy of human cackles,” and demonic spirits hold the calves of the restless angel (10).

Council and infestationch. 33, 36

“Many demons search for life, but their idea of it is blind” (33). “Whispering councils of three hundred and sixty-one demons” tell the demiurge to bridge the river; later he cries, “The demons have infested our home!” (36).

Called demonch. 15, 34

Samson calls the black-winged angel a demon (15). In the stone chamber the machine angel cries, “There is a de—de—demon!” (34).
