A graveyard of fog, and the tree of both life and death.
Tree IIIch. 31
Howls whistle through the teeth of skulls; bones tick in walls of bone. Fog lies over grey-purple ground, stones run to a dark blue-purple horizon, and dead trees rot under mycelium. Only the hangman's tree lives: the tree of both life and death, “always withering without loss,” the form of transformation. It is a crossroad of four forms (life, death, both, none) and four ends (eternal life, eternal nothingness, both, none).
