The last ring of darkness around creation.
The shorech. 3, 4
“The shore is always stretching, always reaching further into the abyss, into the blindness of the outer darkness. It is eternally void” (4). A voice lies “dead at the bottom of this shore of the abyss, on the cusp of nothingness” (3).
The nothingness moatch. 21, 31, 33
Leviathan is “given keys of providence in this nothingness moat, which the demiurge will stumble into three times” (21). Wisdom tells Samson his love “could be found within yourself, within the outermost realm of the outer—darkness” (31). Fleeing the spirit, the Yaldabaoth trips “into the outermost moat of the outer darkness” and finds “only the nothingness swallowing his imperfect flame” (33).
Note: the third moat, around creation, is the outermost darkness.
